Date with a Whale Shark this weekend

There have been sightings of Whale Sharks at Dayang. One big one was spotted last weekend.

Ashar (Blue Reef Scuba) invited me up this weekend. I thought about it for awhile... hey, why not? There's a good chance we might bump into a whale shark or two. Cost about $340 all up.

We driving up there in  one of the DM's car - so thankfully we won't have to endure that utterly horrendous Johor immigration sector reserved for bus travellers. Bus travellers, pedestrians have to alight at immigration and walk up a broken escalator - que for about an hour - then walkdown into a sea of bodies jostling to get back onto the buses. Meanwhile, you brave death because the walkway cuts across the motorcyclists' lane. Its like crossing the freeway on rush hour on crutches. The system is totally fubar - and is a searing indictment on the Johor Govt's bureaucracy.

Anywaaays, what's this about Whale Sharks? Yeah, they were sighted in Dayang the last few weeks. So heck, I gotta go. Its not something you get to do that often - swim with Whale Sharks in the open seas. The sea conditions, however, will be rough as its the start of the monsoon season. ... Well, we'll see.

:)

Yeah, spend some time in the sun. Lie on the soft beach of Dayang for awhile. Chill out with the bros... yeah, it'll be good.

(BTW the photo of the Whale Shark is courtesy of Jason's camera taken at the Maldives)
