$20,000 fine for cockroach in Melbourne restaurant

I took a friend to the city for a meal recently - but I found that a lot of the Chinese restaurants were closed and undergoing renovations or just plain shut.

But you read this story and you can figure out why.

$20,000 fine for cockroach in rice

I guess the recent inspection blitz by the Health and Safety people must have uncovered a few skeletons in the closet. And so - since the shops get their license suspended for a few weeks - they might as well give everyone a holiday and get some renovations done. Afterall these jokers work 24/7.

... or more likely than not, they'll move the business into their father/mother/wife/childrens/aunties/uncles name and carry on as if nothing ever happened. The law here is an ass.... the only bigger ass is those who make the laws.

Throw the book at them.... then close down Hills BBQ and King of Kings. I really don't understand why people continue to go to these places, knowing that they're more rancid and corrupt than five day old fish.

Well... because the food is usually very good and cheap... I went to King of Kings the other day. It was closed. Same as Jumbo, and a host of other restaurants. Anyways, I've taken up cooking and eating at home. BTW, did you manage to catch any deer? Venison stir fried with chilli and ginger would be very much appreciated.

m44jez, you know that would just be the start of what you would need to close.
