Bored people doing funny things at 3am... like ordering pork at a Halal store.

Beautiful come back by FerroChina

Today was FerroChina's Day. A beautiful comeback. The chart says it all.

There was even an opportunity for people to jump in at $1.75 this morning. There was a chorus line of brokers screaming buy recommendations. Its amazing that it didn't punch thru $2.00. But a 10%+ climb on a single day is still pretty good.

I should have got in - but I was still feeling sore over my loss last week. That's what u get when u look too closely at the stock price and also when u don't follow the 2% stop loss rule.

I just wasn't able to standback and see the larger picture- the daily volatility just scared the pants out of me.

Yeah... this is the Big Picture. What next? More positive movement I reckon. But I had to get some distance from the stock. I just wasn't able to be emotionally detached from it. Sounds strange, I know. But that's the life of a trader.

In hindsight I should have observed it as it hit $1.60 and bounced around- it did it before when it smashed pass $1.40 during that mini-crash a few months back.

Then purchased some at $1.60+ and then some more today in the morning. It pays to try and find a good price to get in= everyday people are selling for various reasons and good opportunities abound.

Mary had a little... lamb???

Someone is going around Japan selling fake poodles, careful trimmed lambs. LOL

Read the story here

Japanese fleeced by sheep in poodles' clothing
Japanese dog-lovers have been fleeced into paying hundreds of dollars for pet poodles, only to discover they have been sold cleverly-trimmed sheep.

The scam came to light when a Japanese actress appeared on TV complaining that her new pet did not bark and refused to eat dog food.

After showing a photograph of her 'poodle' on the talk show, Maiko Kawakami was stunned to be told that the animal was, in fact, a lamb.

Humoring Idiots

I find it bizarre that when a couple of idiots - one a self-styled Bishop of Love and Peace - issue fake currency to pay their debtors - the Australian Legal System doesn't haul their arses off to jail quick smart. But then its Australia. So the system takes them to court and tell them to please stop issuing their own currency. So far they've given $500,000 fake notes.

Read the details here:

http://au.news.yahoo.com/070426/2/138xx.html?f=mv

Two men who set up their own sovereign state in a Queensland suburb and made up their own currency to pay bills have been ordered by a court to stop operating as a bank.

In the Federal Court in Brisbane, Donald James Cameron and Darryl John Wheeley, who operate from the southside suburb of Moorooka, were ordered to stop operating their unauthorised financial business - the Federal State Bank of Australia - as a bank after an application made by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA).

Evidence to the court said the men made fake currency and cheques valued at more than $500,000 and used it to pay bills including rent, mortgage repayments, phone bills and legal fees.

The currency was created under the authority of their own so-called Independent Sovereign State of Australia, of which Cameron is the self-styled attorney-general and chief justice. He also calls himself the archbishop of the Church of Love and Peace.

The pair also set up their own parliament at Kalbar, west of Ipswich.

Presented to court were affidavits from small business owners who had received the fake currency and cheques and had been turned away from banks in Queensland, Perth and Sydney when trying to cash them.

Their debts remain unpaid.

Justice Susan Keifel ordered Cameron and Wheeley to desist from printing the money, conducting banking business from their "sovereign state", or using the word "bank" in advertising any services they could provide the public.

Cameron said he would appeal against the decision.

He said the organisation was a religious state coexisting with the other governments of the Commonwealth of Australia.

"I am very confident that the full court will in fact set aside the order made," Cameron told AAP.

He said the payments were legal because they were made under contract law.

"Once they accept the currency, which they did, and it was deposited in the bank account ... that is a binding contract under contract law," he said.

Wheeley was an independent candidate in the 2001 Queensland state election for the seat of Yeerongpilly, scoring just over 700 votes.

Sipadan Scuba Diving

Well, what do u know. Ferro made a come back today- however I didn't dare go near it.

Instead I sold my holdings in AUSGROUP which I bought at 71 cents last week when the markets went into a nosedive. I planned to sell it at 81. And it started to look shaky yesterday.

In fact, I pegged it to sell at 75 yesterday afternoon- but no one was interested in buying it at all.

But the stock opened strongly this morning and went thru the roof as the day progressed; I got out at 86.5

That's 14 grand on a single trade. The urge to sell was just too irresistible.

Not too bad for a weeks trade.

Ausgrp later closed at 91. But I'm happy with what I made. As my Aussie broker used to tell me, don't be greedy, leave some fruit on the tree for the others, son.

Let's move on.

In the meantime, my friends and I are planning to go to Sipadan for scuba diving. The trip is about to be settled on. In the meantime, u can feast your eyes on this guy's trip there. Looks WAYYYYY cool!!!!

F@#$%Ferro

Damn it. A trade gone sour. Ferro looked like it was about to rebound. But the bastard took a dive today. I got in yesterday when it spiked up on good buying support - at $1.68. It seemed like a good day. Plenty of strong buying support and it also had a technical analysis buy signal. But looks can be deceiving.

When it breached the 2% mark, I ignored it as market noise. But when it started hammering away at $1.63 today, I realized I couldn't ignore it. If it falls pass $1.60 it will fall away fast. I dare not hold on. I sold at $1.62, ouch. That really hurt.

It could still rebound off $1.60 super fast. But, for now, I'm putting Ferro in the too hard basket - same with Sunvic and Genting.

Also took a loss on Genting when it came off today and went pass $1.00. Got at $1.04- sold at $0.995. Ignored the sell signal when it hit $1.02 and got punished for it. Never ever made money on Genting shares- must be a sign of some sort. hahahaaaa.

FerroChina comeback

The chart looked promising for Ferro. There seems to be more buyers at the moment- despite the selling pressure.

I got back into Ferro this morning. Chart looks ok now. Should have a nice bounce to $1.80+ and maybe a breakout to $2.00 depending on the mood of the market.

neighbor from hell

Neighbour from hell... read the full story here in the Herald Sun

A NEIGHBOUR from hell drove a Melbourne family to utter despair in a six-year campaign of harassment. Tamara Sharp has admitted she falsely accused her neighbour John Giannaros of molesting his children.

And the Vermont South woman sent sexually explicit letters to Mr Giannaros's wife, Angela, claiming he was sleeping with other women, including prostitutes.

Mr Giannaros and his wife were devastated when Mrs Sharp sent anonymous letters to school and a State Government department alleging he molested his children.

The Giannaros family has spent tens of thousands of dollars on legal costs and lost thousands more due to disruption to their home-based music business.

The harassment continued, despite the Giannaros family taking out a restraining order against Mrs Sharp.

Mr Giannaros said Mrs Sharp tried to destroy his family, but the strength of his relationship with his wife and children had prevailed.

meanwhile in victoria....

Justice done the Aussie way... ie totally fubar. Most likely, he'll be put in juvenile hall for a few years before he's released to torment society. Sick isn't it? This guy doesn't need counselling. He needs a whole year of rotan caning. Maybe then he'll think twice. The victim says she will pray for him. I'd prefer if he's locked away for life.

A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has admitted bashing and raping an 83-year-old grandmother - even as she prayed to God. The terrified woman was so convinced she was going to die in the vicious attack on August 23 last year she prayed: "Lord God, into your hands I command my spirit", the Supreme Court heard yesterday.

The boy approached the woman on a Bendigo walking track after drinking four or five bourbon and cola drinks, and said: "I think you can help me".

When the woman tried to hand over money, the boy kissed her aggressively, dragged her to the banks of a nearby creek, and raped and bashed her, the court heard.

Despite the woman's pleas, her attacker continued bashing her, biting her on the breast and gouging her eyes.

The horrific attack ended when a passing cyclist and the victim's daughter responded to her screams. They discovered the woman lying nearly naked on the muddy banks of the creek with a badly bruised face.

In an interview with police two days after the attack, he admitted he would have killed the grandmother had he not been caught.

The boy's barrister, Gerard Mullaly, said his client was "overwhelmingly immature" and "unable to control his impulses".

"He just lives in the immediate moment and doesn't consider the consequences of his actions," he told the court.

Three years ago, the boy, from central Victoria, was found guilty in a Children's Court of four counts of rape and one of attempted sexual penetration of a child under the age of 16.

He was released on a 12-month supervision order without conviction.

Yesterday, a Supreme Court judge remanded him in custody for sentencing.

Charts

Bought Chartered this week. It held ok for most of the session yesterday but invariably some loose hands got shaken out.

The chart still looks interesting. So I'm going to sit on this hand for awhile and see what the flop brings.

Personally I felt the sell off on the Asian markets was a little silly. Yeah, so China's economy is booming- and that is a bad thing?? What we'll most likely see is China freeing up its currency - then we see an appreciation of the Yuan - and a correspondent fall in its exports, increased imports etc.. Simple economics.

I bought some more Aztec shares yesterday at 45.5, and even tried a go at buying FerroChina but my bid for Ferro was ridiculously low $1.40 - so it didn't succeed. But at one stage virtually ALL the buying had disappeared, leaving only a few buyers at $1.55, $1.58, etc.. Maybe I should have bought a smaller parcel but at a more reasonable price. Oh well, live and learn.

Absolutely hilarious interview

Interview with Singapore's Super Supreme Leader

my garden in melbourne

The multicolored poppies are called ranunculus. It took me a good week to plant them... all 3,000... of them. Most of them fail to grow... :(

Cost about $500 for the first season. But the sheer magnificent of them stunned one of my friends, Pastor TT Quah, to total awe. The joyful look on his face was so good to see.

They are grown from corms (spider looking "bulbs" planted "feet" down) Like most bulbs, they prefer good drainage. Planted in late Summer- they bloom during Melbourne's winter or early spring and provide an awesome sight.

I prefer to stock up on the ranunculus at the end of the season- about late Spring- its very cheap then and you can get 30% discounts at the major stores. The big packs of 80 - cost about $8. But the quality stuff - big healthy corms, packs of 20 cost about $5.

Towards the end of the season over here - August and September - they are sold for half the price at Bunnings etc..

Sipadan, Malaysia

My friends are planning another scuba diving trip. This time to Sipandan Malaysia!!

Check out the review here: at Blue Reef

Sipadan Island - Malaysia

Sipadan, located 30 km off Semporna on the East Coast of Sabah is rated as the world's top dive sites. For the true diving enthusiast, the island needs no introduction. Praised by the internationally renowned oceanographer and filmmaker Jacques Cousteau as one of the best diving spots in the world, it is unique as the only oceanic island in Malaysia. Its geographic position puts Sipadan in the centre of the richest marine habitat in the world, the heart of the Indo-Pacific basin. Sipadan rises 600m from the seabed to provide spectacular wall dives and underwater garden. More than 3,000 species of fish and hundreds of coral species have been classified in this richest of ecosystem.

No other spot on the surface of this planet has more marine life than Sipadan. This oceanic island rises as a pristine coral mount from the floor of the Sulawesi Sea to give awesome 2000 foot wall dives, just 50 feet from the shore. Lying five degrees north of the equator off the mainland of Borneo, Sipadan Island is covered with a luxuriant, untouched rain forest surrounded by pristine sandy beaches.

FerroChina's gone Rusty

Ferrochina gone all rusty. The sellers just hammering away at the price and I was lucky to bail out yesterday at $1.77. Very very lucky.

I tried selling on Tuesday at $1.76 but the computer system with UOBKayHian refused to accept my order - due to a glich in their system.

Anyhow, I'll look into it later when it hits $1.65. I was disappointed tho- I thought it'd be skyward to $2.00 by now.

On other fronts, I finally took the long awaited sell on SUNVIC. I got out on Tueday after getting sickened by the hard selling. Just totally fed up with it. Its trending alright. Trending downwards. Bugger it, there are plenty of fishes in the sea.

I made a mistake tho and also took profits on SWIBER and AZTEC. Punched out at $1.53 and 46.5 respectively. Silly move - should have just rode on the winners but still the whole market was going downward and I didn't want to look stupid missing out on a profit like I did on some other stocks when they ran up.

FerroChina's gone Rusty

Ferrochina gone all rusty. The sellers just hammering away at the price and I was lucky to bail out yesterday at $1.77. Very very lucky.

Dayang, West Malaysia

Great place to go diving. But the travel is the real killer - 3 hours by bus to Mercing, then 4 hours by a small boat to Dayang Island. If it wasn't for the travel, I'd go there every month.

Blue Reef Scuba Ltd.

Me with my friends- Spence, June, and Jane.

Trip to Pulau Dayang Marine Reef for the Padi Diver Open Water course- April 2007. Special thanks to Ashar and Ash and Naasim of Blue Reef Scuba - one of the best diving operators in Singapore. If you ever want to learn scuba diving in Singapore - go with them. They are trained fire fighters and elite rescue staff. Their small office is located opposite the historic Golden Mosque at 723A North Bridge Road. Phone Ashar on (65) 63964859. The cost for the Open Water Diving Course - including pool lessons and the dive trip weekend - is about S$400 or AUD $300.

Sscuba Diving at Dayang

Went scuba diving to Dayang Island (Pulau Dayang) - its a 4 hour boat ride from Mercing, Malaysia.

The scuba diving training group was Blue Reef Scuba Great and excellent instructors - two of them are elite Search and Rescue personnel and have our personal well-being uppermost in our minds - they are totally tip-top for safety and fun!

We stayed at Dayang- and made various scuba diving trips to the small coral and marine sancturies. The area is protected so no commercial fishing or boats are allowed. Its quite a laid back place, food was catered by the staff on the island.

But Dayang is cool: Clear Blue Water, Fine White Sand, pretty fishes, Coral forests, etc.. and cute babes!

Dayang Scuba Diving

Excellent Holiday!!! Beautiful Beaches, Babes, and excellent scuba trainers.
My friends: Spencer, June, and Jane. Don't they look lovely!

Bitch

Chartered just spiked up to $1.50. I noticed that it was holding on quite well this morning but I was trying to clear off some other orders.

When the price started rising, I tried calling my broker when the price went pass $1.46 but she didn't pick the phone up for... what seemed like an eternity. By the time she picked up the phone the price was shooting at $1.50.

There's something to be said for internet straight through orders.

In Australia their internet systems work very well. Even if I fail to place the order, I can still ring up the office and get a dealer within 10 seconds. Check out the site:

Australia's problem with law and order

Apparently many years ago, Australia was a safe place. People didn't need to lock their doors and children played safely in the playgrounds. Now somehow things have changed.

One reason is the lack of respect for law and order. The police and govt are not interested in going after (real) criminals - villains who bash old folks, rape women, rob, bash, etc.. Why? Because the justice system usually only puts them in jail for a few years if they ever get convicted. Its ironic that the system seeks to protect individual rights first - but ends up protecting criminals - and debases that of the community it is meant to serve and protect. But that's the western system of justice for you.

I think rapists who break into people's homes and rape women - ought to be shot if they are caught red-handed and try to escape - and if caught later with overwhelmingly evidence- ought to be placed in a cold concrete cell for the rest of their natural lives.

Read this to find out more.

ah crap

Profit warning on Chartered. Credit Suisse issues a downgrade on Chartered. Came out just then. Bugger it. Sold it at $1.44. Lost a cent. Still took a wack cos I bought heavily into it.

Had to be safe than sorry. Still has possibility for a rebound, but I'm not into magic tricks at the moment.

Should have stuck with Ausgroup and FerroChina. Never lose a single cent on them. Got out of both of them to buy Chartered.

Sometimes it doesn't pay to be clever.

FerroChina

Here's another chart I like. There was a problem though at my broker's side- I put in the order to buy at 1.73 today but the system - run by DMG - crashed. For awhile I thought that the buy order had been completed but it wasn't. I was only informed of the error about 5 minutes later. I'll have to make a complaint about that.

Anyhow I bought back in at $1.76. I should have got it when it hit $1.66 last week. But I was sloppy.

Chartered's Chart is Art

Now this is the sort of Art I like to see. lol. Looks very nice. I think Chartereds got a good chance of powering to $1.60+ before resting a bit before heading past $1.70. I'm anticipating a positive broker report from one of the foreign broking houses - if it comes out - then its gonna up like a rocket. But anyhow, we'll see.

Journalists thrive and grow on manure

How do you make journalists grow? Why you keep them in the dark and feed them plenty of bullshit, that's how!

Check it out here LOL

Let me quote:

ABC's Washington correspondent Michael Rowland:

"Guantanamo Bay is a pretty barren place and it seems like even the scrub struggles to grow," he said. "But for the week we were there the most fertile patch on the island was the media centre. There, 26 mushrooms were thriving, kept in the dark and fed shovel loads of bullshit."

Books

I love reading good quality history books. Well written, detailed, accurate, they are hard to come by.

Over Easter, you might like to read this two books:

The first is by John Darwin, After Tamerlane: The Global History of Empire.

Darin argues that European colonialism was not unique - all Great Powers from the time of Genghis Khan's Mongols and beyond did it.

The notion that colonialsm is ‘the original sin of European peoples, who corrupted an innocent world’ is a utter fallacy.

To understand how empires are formed you have to examine the histories of, not just 17th century - 20th century Europe and America but also the ancient histories of the Ottomans, Chinese, Mongols etc..

In other words, the British Empire didn't invent imperialism. Its merely a natural consequence.

Darwin starts in the 15th century - examining the Mongol ruler - Tamerlane - who governed Eurasia - stretching from China to Russia. He explains why despite the move towards globalism and democracy, the tendency of people to gravitate to power and the need for order and security means that the concept of Empire will not die.

The second book that is worth reading for those nostalgic buffs is by Emily Cockayn's - Hubbub: Filth, Noise and Stench in England, 1600-1770.

We all love those quaint old English cottages- and dream of going back to Ye Olde England. But imagine a world where there's no proper sanitation, no flush toilets, no garbage disposal, no sense of hygiene, and everyone is drunk on cheap gin. Well, what do you get - a world of filth and foulness. Not to mention the fact that most people drank some form of alcohol daily (water was not clean) and defecated in the streets like cats and dogs.

Think of that - before you start complaining about Methodism and Victorian morality.

Unionmet

Got into Unionmet today when my Nextview system alerted me. I was waiting for it to bottom out at 61 but that didn't happen. Waited for a pull back and bought at 65.5.

Stop loss at 64.

It should spike up soon, maybe at 70.

Either way, I don't care. Just focus on the chart.

Here Comes the (China) Sun

Amazing day on the market again. We once again saw huge rises on Golden Agri. My broker notified me about GA yesterday when it spiked up to $1.88, but I was so caught up with other stuff that I didn't pay attention. Anyhow this just goes to show you that you need to do more reading and NOT focus on only a few stocks. The chart for GA is Beeautiful! Pity I didn't see it earlier.

You just have to take a good and positive attitude to this sort of thing- otherwise you'll just go nuts. Honestly, if I had bought GA at $1.88. I'd most likely have sold it at $1.99.

On another note China Sun... Jeez... I bought it three weeks at 54.5 cents when it shot up. I thought it'd break thru past 60 - easy money; its usually done that before and hit that resistance line. So buy at 54.5 and plan to sell at 59+... easy money yeah?

But it came back to 53, I kept and didn't issue a stop loss due to the support floor at 53. I got out a few days ago at 55 cents due to the heavy level of selling & international concerns, and after it failed to breach 56 for a second time. Today, I was talking about it with SP, my friend, this morning when it spiked to 57. It looked good. Unfortunately, I already committed myself to Chartered (1.45) and Synear (2.01). Still holding onto big positions with Aztec and Sunvic (which I purchased in Jan/Feb). Bought Unionmet today at 65.5.

You can't be in too many places at once.

I feel a bit silly for getting out of Ausgroup too two weeks ago. Got in at 61 - sold at 65. The chart looked great. But I was worried about the Middle East crisis/Iran. And took profits. Oh well, share trading - its a great game, just remember that you could be on the menu next if you don't watch out.
